Our art specifications are designed to make sure that you get the best looking finished product.
Art Specifications when Madison Avenue is designing your signs/graphics Your Logo: Please send us your file in vector format, if possible. In most cases that would be a file created in Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw (file with a suffix of .ai, .cdr, .eps or .pdf). If a vector file is not available, you may send us your logo as a TIFF or JPEG file as long as it is at a high resolution (150 dpi at final printed size is required). If you are unsure of the resolution, send us the highest resolution TIFF or JPEG (usually the largest file size) you have and we will let you know if the file you send is suitable for printing. Please include any critical Pantone Matching System (PMS) numbers and let us know if they are uncoated or coated so that we may match them accordingly. Contact us with any questions you may have. Sponsor Logos: The guidelines for sponsor logos are the same as your logo. Ask your sponsor for the best logo they have and we will let you know if there is a problem with the resolution before production begins. We tend to get sponsor logos that are taken off the web such as low-resolution JPEG or GIF images. Please be advised that these are of poor quality for printing and will appear distorted when enlarged for use on signs. When scaled to a usable size, they appear very pixilated -- often to the point of becoming illegible, and should not be used for signage.
Art Specifications when you are designing your signs/graphics Layout: We accept files created in Adobe Illustrator CS3 or below, Photoshop CS3 or below, InDesign CS3 or below, Corel Draw 10 or below, or Quark Xpress 6.1 or below. Please convert all text to outlines, paths or curves (depending upon your software) or send us the files for all fonts used. Please send the files for all placed, embedded, or imported images and logos that you use in your layout as they may not print correctly unless the original image files are present. All images should be at least 150 dpi at final print size. Please include any Pantone Matching System (PMS) numbers and let us know if they are uncoated or coated so that we may match them accordingly. For critical color matches, proved a color-correct printed sample for us, or you may request a printed color proof from us if time allows. Contact us with any questions you may have.
